The PCEI™ – Certified Entry-Level AI Specialist with Python exam is an entry-level certification in the Python Institute’s Artificial Intelligence pathway. It validates foundational knowledge of AI concepts and the ability to apply Python in the context of intelligent systems.

The certification confirms understanding of how AI systems learn from data, how machine learning models operate, how neural networks and generative AI function at a conceptual level, and how to evaluate AI outputs responsibly. Candidates demonstrate practical reasoning skills, interpret model behavior, recognize limitations such as bias and hallucination, and apply basic AI-style logic using Python.

The exam consists of 36 single-select, multiple-select, interactive, and scenario-based questions and has a duration of 60 minutes.

The exam content is divided into six domains:

  1. Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals (14.0%)
  2. Machine Learning Fundamentals (16.5%)
  3. Data Handling, Analysis, and Visualization (16.5%)
  4. Neural Networks, Deep Learning, and Generative AI (22.5%)
  5. Responsible AI, Ethics, and Critical Thinking (16.5%)
