The PCEP™ – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer Practice Test Compendium provides study pages, section-level question sets, and full-length practice tests that mirror the official exam’s scope, item types, scoring, and timing.

The PCEP™ exam is the first certification in the Python Institute’s General-Purpose Programming pathway. It evaluates a candidate’s ability to recognize and apply essential programming concepts, implement control flow structures, work with Python data collections, and define and handle functions and exceptions.

The exam consists of 30 items (single-select, multiple-select, and scenario-based) and has a duration of 45 minutes.

The scope of the exam is distributed across four domains:

  1. Computer Programming and Python Fundamentals (18%)
  2. Control Flow – Conditional Blocks and Loops (28%)
  3. Data Collections – Lists, Tuples, Dictionaries, and Strings (26%)
  4. Functions and Exceptions (28%)
